During my short campaign work for the United States Senate, I have received consistent feed back from the Wyoming Electorate no matter their registration status that they support term limits. Pretty close to a 100% majority of folks.
Term Limits are regulations and laws that limit the number of terms an individual can be in a specific office. For example, Presidents of the United States are limited to just two four-year terms, after passage of the 22nd amendment to the US Constitution on March 21, 1947.
All the other Federal Offices and Judgeships have no term limits. For example, a Supreme Court Justice, like all Federal Judges, are appointed by the president, consented to by the Senate and serve life terms until they are either impeached, pass away or choose to retire.
My position on the matter has always been term limits can be accomplished by simply voting with the exceptions mentioned above.
Thus, my boggle as to why my republican brothers and sisters who voted in the Wyoming Primary elected John Barrasso to run as their nominee for a fourth term in the US Senate while also espousing support for term limits.
Personally, it seems it is truly time for someone else to represent Wyoming in the US Senate. That someone else would be me, the other alternative in the race.
Term Limits, Yes or No?
